カタカナ

The writing system in Japan used when writing foreign words. It likes to draw out vowel sounds.

For example: marker becomes maakaa (マーカー), door becomes doa (ドア), and CD becomes... CD (pronounced shii-dii). This is because Japanese is its own language and does not borrow any words from English or any other language whatsoever.
